Own Your Own Standard Timing Model (STM)
The Standard Timing Model is our mechanical skills assessment tool used to identify mechanical skills and competencies when hiring machine operators, maintenance mechanics, electro-mechanical personnel, assemblers, or technicians. There are varying degrees of difficulty "assessment tasks" depending on the position you’re hiring for. The assessment protocols for a "maintenance mechanic" position are more challenging than the assessment protocols for a "machine operator" position.
The process identifies skills such as troubleshooting ability, spatial perception, quality differentiation, hand-eye coordination, qualitative and quantitative reasoning ability, the understanding of different mechanical components, and the understanding of mechanical Stroke, Timing, and Position.
Identifying The Right Candidate For The Job
The Standard Timing Model is unique in that the assessment machine has the capability to identify "mechanical instinct." With forty years of mechanical skills assessment data we know that when we test a pool of candidates that have had no training or exposure to a mechanical environment we will identify approximately 20% of these individuals as having innate mechanical instinct. These individuals are highly trainable. Our clients use this capability when they hire entry level personnel and staff apprentice programs.
Benefits of Ownership
Besides the convenience of having the right testing equipment on-site, on-demand, ownership also gives you the opportunity to build in-house training and apprentice programs. In additon, you can also evaluate your current team for placement into other departments thus maximizing your current workforce. Ownership includes assessment methodology training for incumbent(s) at your facility.
Our Standard Time Model equipment is also available for lease. SMT can conduct the assessments at our location, in your facility, or we can train your incumbents the assessment methodology.
