CNC Skills Assessments

CNC Skills Assessment
using the CNC Test Device (CNCTD)

The CNC Test Device screens and trains CNC setup operators with production responsibilities. The device quantitatively ranks and evaluates job applicants, as well as provides a grading method for training purposes.

Candidates receive instructions, a job setup sheet, and an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the CNC machine. The assessment identifies and measures the candidates ability to set up the work holding device and indicate square, ability to zero out X-Y-&-Z axis, ability to measure and load a tool table for four different cutting tools, ability to use edge finder, flip indicator, height gauge, dial caliper and micrometer correctly, ability to read a print and follow setup sheet, manufacture CNC parts and verify the part has been made correctly to the QC inspection sheet.

The CNC Skills Assessment Program takes the uncertainty out of the hiring process. No longer will hiring managers need to hope a candidate possesses the skills and experience they represent. The assessment program separates individuals by skill levels, identifying the strongest candidates to drive productivity in your shop.

The process evaluates CNC production operators based on the speed and accuracy the candidate completes the set of instructions.

Hands-On, Performance-Based

Identifying and quantifying skills prior to hire is the most effective means to assure the most productive hiring decision. This solution provides a Return-On-Investment over 100% the first year of implementation. These industrial skills assessments have been administered over 1,000,000 times, as a result our manufacturing clients have saved over $10 billion.

The efficacy of the assessment program has been confirmed by over forty validation studies conducted by Industrial/Organizational PhD’s and by over 48 years of success driving productivity in the field.

In addition to the above uses, our Skills Assessment Programs can award college credit to participants based on results.
